In Proverbs 18:22 it says that,"he who finds a wife finds what is good and receives favor from the Lord. The first key word in this passage is, "good". According to Proverbs 12:4, "A wife of noble character is her husband crown," The second most important phrase in this passage would have to be," favor from the Lord." In Proverbs 19:14 the second half says, "a prudent wife is from the Lord." This verse states that it is good to be married. Today's emphasis on individual freedom is misguided. Strong individuals are important, but so are strong marriages. According to, The Life Application Study Bible.
If God didn't intend to have a important emphasis put on the marriage, then why did he make women out of a man. The marriage returns the two bodies as one. In Genesis 2:23-24 it says, "This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called women, for she was taken out of man. For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife and they will become one flesh"
How important is it that Christ's choice of a wedding to perform his first miraculous sign to glorify his father. God has design our relationship with our spouses the same as the relationship of God the father, and his son. It is also the same as the Christ, the head of the church and us his church.
